My Fantasy Novel Has Been Recorded!

This week, a dream came true for me.

For over four years, I have dreamed of turning my fantasy novel, What Shines with the Dawn, into an audiobook to release as an episodic podcast. With an amazing voice actress, Casey Sigler, a dedicated producer, John Dollahite, and a daring vessel of a recording studio, The Grove, my dream came to life!

We began recording on Sunday, September 17 and continued to meet for 4 – 5 hour sessions the following two days. After this time, we faced the reality that we would not be able to complete the entire book by the end of our sixteen-hour schedule.

We agreed to meet early tomorrow and push through the rest of the book that day. We all agreed to the challenge and only realized later what kind of a challenge it was!

We met Wednesday at 8:30 AM, and did not stop recording until 2:20 AM later that day. I was amazed at how determined, selfless, devoted, and relentless this amazing crew was! Casey never broke character and read to the very last word. John kept his determination up as he continued to create edits on the fly.

With eleven hours spread across Sunday – Tuesday and seventeen hours on Wednesday alone, we finished recording the book!

I cannot thank the devoted work of Casey and John for their hard work and determination on this project! This has been a dream come true, and Dear Reader, I cannot wait to begin the next phase: transforming this into a dramatized audiobook podcast!
