Book II Update | A Week of Nothing But Writing

I’m about to embark on what is possibly one of the greatest writing endeavors I’ve ever attempted.

For a while, you have been asking me questions about the update for Book II. It has been my desire to be as transparent with you as I can be about my progress by posting the current word count at the beginning of a new week, if a new chapter(s) had been completed that prior week.
My goal was to write at least 5,000 words per week. This task was designed to get me to a specific word count as the staring point of a personal assignment that I’ve been waiting for.
Staring today, I’m on vacation from work. I’m not traveling anywhere or doing anything regarding of what a traditional vacation looks like. This vacation I took was for one reason only: to write.
Prior to reaching this date, my goal was to reach a total of 150,000 – 155,000 words. I’m happy to say that the current word count as of today for Book II of The Odysseys of Alaythia series is 155,080, putting me just slightly beyond my hoped achievement.
Excluding Shabbat (Saturday), I will be writing every single day this week for several hours on end. I have a daily word count in mind that I would like to reach, and an end-of-vacation total word count I would love to have achieved, as well. I won’t share those yet until after the conclusion of this week, but here’s what I will say.
The worst-case scenario, I add tens of thousands of words to the book, and the best cast scenario…I finish the first draft.
I do not mean to give your hopes up. There is a chance that Book II will not be completed by the end of this week; nevertheless, I’m a firm believer that your goals should always be just outside your reach. How else do you expect to pursue them with all your heart?
I ask for your prayers. This is something I’ve been looking very forward to, and each day, I will be updating you on my progress via Instagram, Facebook, and X (formerly Twitter).
Time to begin!
