Hello, Everyone! I’m happy to say that last week, I completed a new chapter, bringing the total word count up to 192,262.

These past few weeks have been very difficult.

A short time long ago, my uncle passed away. He was a man who lived life by example with pure honesty, humor, and love for all.

He was a man who once fell on difficult times, but refused to let hard times keep him down. Like the strong man that he was, he called upon God’s grace, rose to the challenge, and made a better life.

Years ago, I went through my own hard times (which I will share someday with you). Little did my uncle know, he was on my mind as I was climbing out of my own Dire Straits. His love, encouragement, and example were some of the things that pushed me to not give up but make a better life for myself.

This past chapter, I got to introduce a new character to the story. A strong leader, yet filled with humility. Selfless in nature and one who carries himself with boldness and honor. A father figure to a young leader, who shepherds with gentleness.

I had a last name for this character but not a first. In honor of my uncle, I will be giving the first name of this character after him. So, dear reader, when this book II is out, be looking for a "Scott Mills."

While some of their personalities may differ slightly, I hope you get to experience the many ways this character and my uncle overlap and in doing so, get to know one of the many men whom God sent in my life when I was lost at sea and in desperate need of wind in my sails.
