I’m in Shelby Farms, one of the largest recreational parks in my home city of Memphis, TN. Interestingly enough, Shelby Farms is in the top 20 of urban parks in the Unities States, spanning a grand 4,500 acres. If you find yourself passing through the tristate area, it’s a great place to pause and stretch your legs.
The reason I’m here today is to start something I’ve wanted to do since 2017. During that time Book One of my fantasy series was still being edited, and only the first nine hundred words of Book Two had been written.
It’s currently July 2026. Book One is now out on Amazon in both paperback and Kindle and a theatrical audiobook, and the first draft of Book Two was just completed a few weeks ago—all except the last line, of course.

As I stand at this new mile marker, I find that I finally have the opportunity to begin something that I’ve always wanted to do which is to write my series and bring you along for the journey.
What that looks like is this: I want to travel around locally, nationally, internationally, go a special location I’ve had in mind, write a section of my book there, and vlog the experience.
I want to bring you along for the journey. I want you to be apart of the writing process and watch my book progress, while exploring these near and far off places together. And at the end of the book, I’ll reveal which parts were written at each location as a fun recap.

Of course, I won’t be able to show you every moment of me writing the book. Thousands of words will be written on my own in between each video, but I will bring you in throughout the process—the starting of a new chapter, the ending of another; or a scary scene, a romantic moment, an uplifting time in the story, etc., that must be written at “this” location to get the right feeling.
Today, I’m breaking ground by writing the very first words of Book Three! This is it! This is the start of the third book in the series. The first word, the first sentence, the first few hundred words were written here, in this gazebo, at Shelby Farms in Memphis, Tennessee.
I hope that as you follow along with me throughout these different places I travel to, near and far, that you are encouraged and inspired to begin or continue your own writing project. And even if you are not a writer, but feel called to create something, I hope as you watch this series, you will not feel alone in that but emotionally supported to continue your work.
I plan on exploring and writing more at other locations I have lined up, but most important of all, I plan on taking you along for the journey.
